The role of the media in the formation of perceptions

One of the most important factors in the formation of thoughts and opinions is the media. I think it has a huge impact, especially on young minds. The TV series and the topics covered here are also indicators of the tendencies of the people. Because whichever scenario is watched a lot, it is generally the same in the subjects covered. The perceptions and fictions created here have an impact on young individuals and contribute to the formation of their way of interpreting life and their personalities.

media and television

People can choose the characters created in TV series and movies as role models by putting them in their place and taking a share from them. Rich businessman, strong bully, handsome flirtatious young man, heavy brother roles, intrigue, cheating, deception, mafia, hit-and-miss scenarios etc. examples can be multiplied. Some people, who cannot distinguish between reality and fiction, may be influenced by these roles and misinterpret life, and practice behaviors that may set a negative example in real life. This creates illegal events, murders, and quarrelsome, discommunicative masses trying to strangle each other. Such incidents are increasing so much in the country that they become material for daytime TV programs. Who cheated on whom, who ran away, I don't know why anyone broke up with their spouse. Why was a young teenage girl abused? Issues such as who were murdered by the same media organs are handled for the sake of ratings. Although they seem to contribute to people's recognition of real life, they can also impose negative behavior on young minds. I think that the perception engineering created by the media has a huge impact on the behavior of the masses.

I don't know where famous people went, what they bought, what clothes they wore, and if they talked more about current useful topics, history programs and instructive documentaries, it is proof that people's brains are filled with useless information instead of useful information. Of course, there may also be useful programs and TV series about family solidarity, love and commitment. However, what I see in general is that wrong perceptions are imposed on society for the sake of rating. There is a vicious circle here. Whatever the public's interest, the media is trying to cover the issues of public interest in order to increase its income. The media is becoming influenced by the public, from the public by the media. On the other hand, the media continues to impose some abominations on the society as a subject in order not to give up their income. I think that especially young children should be kept away from such TV programs and serials. They need to be referred to psychology, self-help, books and programs that can help them distinguish fact from fiction. They should be encouraged to be interested in sites and training programs that will provide them with more useful information instead of garbage issues circulating on the Internet.
